  • Spot-on flea treatments are best applied after grooming. This will reduce the exposure of the medication to the grooming staff & ensure the most effective dose for your pet.

COAT CONDITION:

We believe in the philosophy of “Humanity before Vanity” meaning we will not spend excessive amounts of time brushing out mats if there is a kinder alternative. The safety & comfort of your pet is our priority. For coats, where de-matting isn't possible the coat will be shaved off. If it is decided a complete clip off is required you will be informed.

The Animal Welfare Act 2006 states that no animal should be exposed to pain or discomfort, and grooming will be undertaken solely at our discretion in compliance with this. Owners are required to uphold a grooming routine at home to maintain your pets coat and we take no responsibility for your pets coat matting between grooms.

ELDERLY PET & SEDATION GROOMS:

Our aim is to make the animal comfortable and a style cannot be requested. We will assess the animals coat and owners needs beforehand and do what is necessary to make them comfortable. The risks attached to grooming under these circumstances are placed entirely on the owner.

PRICES:

Our prices are individually based on time required, complexity of style, pets behaviour & coat condition. As well as remaining within a recommended grooming schedule.

REFUSAL OF SERVICE:

You must inform us prior to grooming if your dog has ever bitten or displayed aggressive tendencies towards grooming, people or other dogs. Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, which holds owners liable for any injuries caused by their pets. House Pets reserves the right to refuse any animal we feel is unfit for grooming either physically or mentally or if it presents a risk of injury to itself, other animals, our staff or members of the public.
